Dear Colleagues,

The Society for Alternatives to Animal Experiments-India (SAAE-I), a registered scientific society in India, had its genesis at the National Centre for Alternatives to Animal Experiments (erstwhile MGDC), Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, in October 2018, and the first National Conference was conducted at Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, in Nov 2018. The SAAE is one of the most vibrant scientific societies in India with a regular annual meet in different parts of the country. SAAE promotes humane research, education and training systems to promote the internationally accepted Concept of “3R’s”– “Alternatives” –Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement – of use of animals in education, research and testing.
The 5th Annual Conference of the SAAE-I is being organized with an aim to bring together the stakeholders of 3’Rs – academia, scientific community, industry, government and animal behavior / welfare personnel from national / international levels to raise awareness / facilitate exchange of information / ideas about alternatives. This conference is being organized in the Hybrid mode under the Dept. Of Zoology, University of Kerala and Sri Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology.
